Pupil Development Centre

Parents/ carers will be aware that children need a lot of guidence with their social and emotional skills as they grow and develop. The Pupil Develpment Centre (known to the children as 'The Sanctuary') works with children in small groups from Foundation to Year 6 to offer extra help in developing these skills.

They may have fallen out with a friend or feel they are being left out. They may be finding it difficult to stick to school rules or be feeling angry or upset because of changes at home. All children can have these experiences at times, and learning how to deal with them is all part of growing up. Through activities that include art, drama and music, the staff will create a safe place for small groups of children to get a beeter feeling of working and playing together.

Mrs Crosthwaite and Mrs Kennedy are the sanctuary staff.

 Kidscope

Kidscope is an opportunity for parents and people from the local community to access a wide range of professionals who would otherwise be difficult to reach. It is in the form of a drop in centre where parents can made an informal visit or make an appointment to discuss any issues or difficulties regarding their child in the home environment.

It runs on the first Monday of every month in changeable settings across Armley. Professionals which may be involved include educational psychologists, parent partnership, learning mentors, parent support workers and any other professionals which may be suggested.

If you would like to make an appointment or check where the next Kidscope location will be then please contact Mrs Crosthwaite or Miss Blackburn at school.
